Every child at our nurseries enjoys a well balanced healthy diet in order to build a strong body and mind. We follow nutritional guidelines from the School Food Trust and include suggestions from parents in our planning. Vegetarian options are available at every meal and we are able to cater for a majority of special dietary requirements.
The meals are prepared in the nursery kitchens from locally sourced fresh ingredients and the menu is changed frequently to reflect the seasons of the year and the diverse culture we live in.
Educating children on the topic of healthy eating and nutrition is paramount at our Nursery and the importance of providing children with a balanced diet is becoming increasingly evident.
Some low-income families or carers and young parents may be eligible for Healthy Start vitamins and food vouchers as part of the welfare food scheme. If you are pregnant or have a child under four years old you could get Healthy Start vouchers to help buy some basic foods such as milk, plain fresh and frozen fruit and vegetables, and infant formula milk.
UK health departments recommend that all breastfed babies should be given a vitamin supplement from six months onwards that contains Vitamins A, C and D, such as Healthy Start vitamin drops.
