Owner & Nursery Manager
Charley opened her first Nursery in February 2011.
She is qualified to Level 3 in Early Years Education and Care.
Rather than going back into Higher Education herself she prefers invest her time and knowledge into the staff team.
She mentors them and encourages them to realise their potential and gain higher qualifications where appropriate. Even if this means they eventually move on to other careers.
Previous staff have completed or gone on to complete Degrees.
Some are now work as Social Workers, Special Educational Needs Teachers and Support, in mainstream Schools, Specialist Schools and Residential Homes for children with complex needs while some have moved on to management roles in other Nursery settings.
Charley has a wealth of experience in Early Years, Leadership & Management, Safeguarding and Special Educational Needs.
She is trained in Safeguarding and Child Protection and holds a current Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
She is a parent herself to a 17 year old son and 11 year old stepson.
Co Owner/ Nursery Chef
Richard is Charley’s partner and runs the settings Food Hygiene rated kitchen and is dedicated to preparing healthy nutritious meals in house.
Richard is qualified in Food Safety. He is also trained in Safeguarding and Child Protection and holds Paediatric First Aid.
Richard is a parent himself with an 11 year old son and 17 year old stepson.
Deputy Nursery Manager
Becky joined the team in May 2019.
She is Level 3 qualified in Early Years.
Becky assists Charley with the day to day running of the setting and manages the setting in Charley’s absence.
Becky has worked in all rooms with all ages across the Nursery. She currently spends part of her week working in the Toddler Room.
Becky is trained in Safeguarding and Child Protection and holds a current Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
She is a parent herself to 4 children.
Assistant Nursery Manager & Room Leader
Becca rejoined the Charley’s Angels team in April 2019.
She was part of our team at our previous setting from 2013-2015.
She is a Qualified Early Years Teacher after completing her Early Years Teacher Training at Huddersfield University in 2020.
Becca was already qualified to Level 3 in Early Years as well as Play Work.
She also holds a degree in Psychology.
She is trained in Safeguarding and Child Protection and holds a current Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
She is a parent herself to a son.
Assistant Nursery Manager & Room Leader
Sheri joined the team in April 2019.
Sheri is in the final year of her BA Honours Degree in Early Childhood Studies at Huddersfield University
She is hoping to begin her Early Years Teacher Training at Huddersfield University to become a Qualified EYT this September (COVID Dependent)
Sheri is qualified in Safeguarding and Child Protection and holds a current Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
She is a parent herself to 2 children.
Assistant Nursery Manager & Room Leader
Rachel joined the team on 1st June 2020
She is Level 3 qualified in Early Years Education.
She is trained in Safeguarding and Child Protection and will shortly renew her Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
She is a parent herself to 2 children.
Rachel originally led the Toddler Room however she is now leading the Baby Room alongside Chantelle to cover Paige’s Maternity Leave.
Early Years Teacher
Kat joined the team in March 2021.
Kat holds a PGCE in Primary Education with Qualified Teacher Status which she gained at Huddersfield University after completing a BA Hons Degree in Early Years.
She is currently working in the Toddler Room and will move to Pre School in September 2021 with the children as they transition downstairs.
Kat is trained in Safeguarding and Child Protection and will shortly complete her Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
Early Years Practitioner (Baby Room)
Emma joined the team on 1st July 2020
She is Level 3 qualified in Early Years Education.
She is trained in Safeguarding and Child Protection and will shortly renew her Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
She is a parent herself to 2 children.
Acting Pre School Room Leader
Beth joined the team in August 2020
She is Level 3 qualified in Early Years Education.
She is trained in Safeguarding and Child Protection and holds a current Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
Beth is currently assisting with leading the Pre School Room alongside Becca to cover Sheri’s Maternity Leave.
Early Years Practitioner (Pre School)
Hina joined the team on 1st June 2020
She is Level 3 qualified in Early Years Education.
She is trained in Safeguarding and Child Protection and holds a current Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
Early Years Practitioner (Baby Room)
Carla joined the team in August 2021.
She is Level 3 qualified in Early Years .
She is trained in Safeguarding and Child Protection and will complete her Paediatric First Aid Certificate at the earliest opportunity.
Carla will be with us full time until August 2022 when she will be moving on to University to complete a degree in Education with Psychology and Counselling.
She will remain on as Bank Staff for cover during the School Holidays.
Early Years Apprentice (Pre School)
Chloe joined the team on 8th September 2020
She is training towards her Level 2 qualification in Early Years Education in house with Realise Training.
She will shortly complete her Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
Early Years Assistant
Glenda or Nanna G is Charley’s Mum. She joined the staff team in May 2021.
Glenda works 2 short days a week with the under 2’s to assist with staff breaks and lunches.
Whilst technically unqualified in Early Years Glenda has a wealth of experience and has 2 adult children and 2 grandchildren.
She is trained in Safeguarding and Child Protection and will complete her Paediatric First Aid Certificate at the earliest opportunity.
Early Years Apprentice (Baby Room)
Kaylynn joined the team in August 2021
She is training towards her Level 2 qualification in Early Years Education, in house with Realise Training.
Kaylynn is trained in Safeguarding and Child Protection and will complete her Paediatric First Aid Certificate at the earliest opportunity.
Steph Gallagher-Early Years Practitioner
Steph served as Nursery Manager in Charley’s absence and assisted Charley in the day to day running of the setting from 2015 when the Nursery opened in Milnsbridge up to July 2019.
She also worked at our previous setting in Almondbury for several years.
Steph left Charley’s Angels to pursue a career working with children aged 8-16 with complex needs.
You may not see her very often at the moment due to the pandemic but she usually visits the Nursery children quite regularly and helps out by covering staff sickness and holidays whenever she is available.
Steph is Level 3 qualified in Early Years Education as well as Leadership & Management.
Louise Brown – Early Years Practitioner
Louise assisted Charley in the day to day running of the setting from 2015 when the Nursery opened in Milnsbridge up to October 2018.
She also worked at our previous setting in Almondbury for several years.
Louise left Charley’s Angels to pursue a career in a school setting working with children with SEN, however she remains on hand for cover during the School Holidays.
Louise is qualified to Level 3 in Child Care & Education and also in Leadership and Management.
Louise is also trained in Safeguarding and Child Protection, Paediatric First Aid and Food Hygiene.
She is a parent herself to 3 children.
